FINAL REMINDER.
We’re ON!
Summer Orienteering returns to Florida. SATURDAY AUGUST 14.

AND IN NORTH FLORIDA FINALLY!But its still only 90 minutes from Orlando.

If you’ve noticed the latest update on the FLO web page Event schedule, or if you’ve been lurking closely enough to have heard (or if I’ve already hit you up for help) you are aware of the recent mapping effort on our newest venue Florida Agricultural Museum at 7900 Old Kings Road, Palm Coast, FL, located 1 mile south of Exit 2998 of I-95 (the Route 1 exit)
The attached Flyers tell you all about it.
On August 14, we’ll offer White, Yellow and Orange courses and gear it all to first-timers – FLO veterans are invited to come along:

……To join in the fun and maybe help handle the “big crowds” and maybe serve as a friendly welcoming face to newcomers.

Of course there will be big crowds - Because you’ve been helping to advertise and promote the event.
That’s why I’m sending you this – AGAIN!
So you’ll come and bring others.

And then return on November 13.
Print off the attached flyers – black & white or color, we don’t care - and distribute them to every sporting goods store or outdoor store you visit between now and August 14. If you’re in the Daytona to Jacksonville corridor you are doubly deputized to do so.
Also give them to every scouting unit you know of.
Also give them to every youth group you know of.
Also give them to every home school group you know of
Also give them to every Adventure racing, hiking, outdoor, singles, running or hashing group you know of.
No kidding: Print them off and distribute them. Or email them if you like.

Promote, promote, promote.

We want to show F.A.M. folks how FLO can turn out a huge crowd – just for a summer event and then come back again on November 13 for the regularly scheduled FLO event where all six classic courses will be offered.
I told them to expect 100 people. But I also told them we’ve had over 500 at our events before. Let’s beat that figure. They are equipped to hold 500+ so let’s see if we can overwhelm them.

And besides – you’ll be able to enjoy the whole museum grounds with tours and everything, after your hike – for a special one-day-only Orienteering Discount rate of $2 per person. The Museum is terrific.

Circulate this notice and these flyers far and wide.

The grounds of the F.A.M. are large enough to hold the W-Y-O courses and the grounds are quite open and novice-friendly for orienteering. All the FAM property lies west of, and adjacent to, I-95, right at the point where the vegetated horse-trail bridge crosses over I-95 – you may have noticed it. The other half of our new map lies east of I-95 on Saint Johns River Water Management District lands and will be used for the advanced course on November 13 (note that I mistakenly wrote Nov 14 in this slot in the last email I sent). You’ll love it! It’s wonderful over there.
